NAVIGATING RECA: A Roadmap for Condo Owners & Managers
CCI North Alberta and the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) present an insightful two-part INSITE Webinar Series exploring RECA’s regulatory role in the condo management industry. In this series, Doug Dixon, RECA’s Regulatory Compliance Advisor, will guide condo owners and managers through the complexities of understanding the role of the regulator in condo management, highlighting how RECA can support both condo managers and owners in their efforts to resolve disputes and work together more effectively. Each session will focus on the unique ways RECA helps condo managers and owners collaborate effectively, ensuring smoother operations and successful condo communities.

Condominium owners and board members alike can benefit from understanding what RECA is and how it can support the success of their condo corporation.

The session will provide clarity on the distinct responsibilities of condo boards and managers, strategies to avoid delays and complications in the formal complaint process and guidance on how RECA facilitates efficient dispute resolution.

Session Format:
This is an online Zoom session in the early evening, between 6:30-7:30 pm.
The INSITE Session will begin with a presentation where Doug will share his knowledge and perspective on how to work effectively alongside the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA). Following the presentation attendees will have the opportunity for questions and further discussion.

Doug Dixon has worked in many facets of the real estate industry over the last 42 years, including the role of Executive Officer of the Nova Scotia Real Estate Association and the Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Real Estate Commission.
His main role as a Regulatory Compliance Advisor is to provide support to brokers and managers. This includes helping with the application of the legislation and rules, as well as assisting brokers with difficult situations they may not be sure how to handle. The advice Doug offers is provided on a confidential and without prejudice basis. Doug also delivers informative presentations for brokerages, industry associations, and other stakeholders.
Prior to his association and regulatory management work, Doug was a salesperson and a broker for 14 years and before his real estate career, Doug was a Navigation Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces.
